They are one of the UK's largest and most diverse consultancies in the design, management, infrastructure, real estate, civil engineering, environmental management and transport sectors. They have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Level Structural Engineer to join the team in central Manchester

The Structural Associate will be responsible for winning and managing commercially viable work and offering a reliable, high-quality client focused civil, structural engineering design service. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Structural Associate will have overall responsibility for the growth, performance and engineering delivery of this section of the business. This position requires an articulate and focused individual with relevant experience of being an Associate Director, Director, Senior Engineer, Associate, Structural Engineer or Principal Engineer, with highly developed technical engineering, interpersonal and organisational skills. Duties include;

" Managing teams of senior engineers, engineers, graduate engineers and technicians
" Managing project delivery to programme and budget
" Winning work
" Production of concept schemes from the client brief
" Preparation of a design philosophy
" Production of effective, economical structural designs using all common construction materials
" Production of calculations by hand and using computer analysis techniques
" Production of construction details and sketches
" Attendance at design team meetings and workshops
" Liaising with contractors and other design team members to resolve coordination of details
" Checking work produced by other team members and external parties where required
" Preparation of design programmes
" Preparation of resource estimates
" Preparation of fee proposals
" Management of appointments and project governance procedures
" Reporting on financial performance of projects.
" Preparation and management of Project Execution Plans
" Preparation and management of the Project Inception Document
" Initiation of peer reviews
" Representing the business, including related disciplines, at external meetings
" Implementing business processes.
" Attending site and inspecting work in progress
" Production of site visit reports

We would like to hear from you, if you have/are.

" An appropriate degree in structural/civil engineering
" At least 10 years post-graduate experience
" Chartered (MIStructE or MICE)
" Excellent oral and written communication skills
" MS Office Proficient
" A full driving licence

The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate and possess excellent written and oral communication skills with a desire to progress within both their field of expertise and within the business.
