Keeping Families Together Prevention / Reunification Coach - Keeping Families Together Service - Edge of Care

Harrow Council's Together with Families Initiative is piloting a Keeping Families Together Prevention Service with a clear aim to: to trial evidence based Edge of Care work with complex families who are at risk of coming into care and who can be supported to reunify back home..

The Keeping Families Edge of Care Service is planned for launch in May 2017 and the team is now looking for 3 Keeping Families Together Prevention / and a Reunification Coaches to join them. The team will provide direct intensive support to young people aged 11-18 and their families usually over a period of up to 16 - 24 weeks

As this is a responsive service we expect everyone in the Keeping Families together service to be able to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends.

These are newly created posts and the post holders will report into the First Response Team Manager / Access to Resources Team Manager.

The roles are fixed for 12 months - extension is subject to evaluation of the service.

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to:
* Be tenacious and engage well with complex families and young people
* Support families to develop and maintain skills to prevent escalation into statutory services and becoming looked after.
* Work with young people and families to assist successful reunifications back home
* Work with a range of professionals to improve outcomes for children and families and reduce the numbers of children coming into care
* Deliver a reduction to financial expenditure on high cost external placements
* Recognise and demonstrate the need for value for money driven services

Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.
