Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for a position based in Kidderminster. The Electrical Design Engineer will develop and support product design, system integration and test facility design, including calculations, production drawings and graphical representations of installations.

The role of an Electrical Design Engineer includes:

  • Responsible for the definition of processes to be used by the Electrical Engineering department and processes where interactions with other departments are required (e.g. build, installation, purchase, commissioning etc.).
  • Ensure that processes are implemented in the best efficient way to maximise productivity, reduce superfluous time spending and minimise errors.
  • Ensure that processes are maintained to the optimal level liaising with all departments' managers, for feedback and possible improvements.
  • Ensure that Electrical Engineering Department uses standardised and/or automatic methods and procedures to altogether achieve similar results.
  • Development of processes in scripting and / or API for ePLAN (C#, VB) in MS Visual Studio.
  • Installation of new/reviewed processes on all machines in the department.
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.

Details:

Salary is £40-£50k per annum, 25 Days holidays + bank holidays.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will need the following:

  • Experience in the operation of at least one area of engine or vehicle test technology.
  • HND in Electrical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of AutoCAD, BS EN 60204-1 and ePlan.
  • Experience in the integration of the new machinery directive EN ISO 13849-1.
  • Knowledge of AC Vector Drive Systems.
  • Experience in the design of Form 2 Motor Control Centres, together with a background knowledge of integrating automation systems into facility PLC/BMS

systems would be a distinct advantage.

  • Experience in working with IEE Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • 2008 - 17th Edition would also be an advantage.
