My client is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team in Nottingham. The purpose of the role is to assist in completing a number of weekly and monthly payrolls varying in size and to also lead a small team of administrators. This person will be supporting the Assistant Payroll Manager and the Payroll Manager. You will need to have a strong background in payroll and possibly be looking after a small team already. If are not supervising a team at present but would like the opportunity to do so they will also consider you.

Main duties

  • Prepare and import holiday pay – ensuring all audit processes are followed
  • Export and import CSV files containing timesheet data, new starter information, payslip data and tax codes – ensuring all audit processes are followed
  • Collating payrolls and ensuring all received by payroll deadline
  • Auditing tax documents
  • Gross to net calculations through Payroll System – ensuring all processes complete, dealing with any errors where applicable
  • Prepare Pre BACS checks for administrators to audit
  • Preparing and balancing disbursements
  • Run and check a number of system reports for various areas of the business
  • Audit Sending of CHAPS/Bank Transfers
  • Sending weekly/monthly bacs for a number of payrolls
  • Responsible for BACS sign off
  • Audit manual calculations – payments outside of the payroll run
  • Point of contact for senior managers including senior operation’s managers
  • Responsible for ISO processes, point of contact for auditors
  • Weekly KPI’s/Dashboard, team performance and operation’s statistics
  • Year to Date adjustments within the payroll system
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of HMRC payments
  • Submit HMRC online submissions – all areas for PAYE Anytime / RTI, rectifying submission failures and resubmit
  • Update government gateway including EYU’s
  • Responsible for preparing daily task planner for distribution to the payroll team
  • Responsible for the day to day operations, liaising with team to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Full planning of bank holiday periods including operational negotiations
  • Process the salaried payroll
  • Assist with end of tax year
  • Responsible for maintaining appearance and upkeep of the Payroll Department
  • Understand and keep abreast of Payroll legislation, current and new
  • Assist with additional tasks as directed by Management
  • To assist and offer ideas to improve procedures and office systems
  • Coach, support and advise administrators on developing knowledge and experience
  • Provide feedback to Assistant Manager on administrators to aid their development and assist with reviews
