Our prestigious Automotive client based in Dunton, Essex is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Calibration Engineer to work within our Clients ever expanding PCCN Calibration department on a full time basis.
This role is for a Diesel Calibration Development Engineer supporting the development, validation and sign-off of Vehicles Applications to meet Legal and Ford Corporate requirements.
This is a brilliant opportunity for the chosen candidate to work in a very modern and luxurious working environment. The successful Calibration Engineer will be working a 37.5-hour week with access to onsite parking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Feature calibration of Alternator control, Air-Con, Fans, Cruise/Speed Control, Torque interface to other vehicle systems, etc)
  • Driveability Attribute development
  • Development of Full Load Power and Smoke calibration
  • Part load dyno emissions work / Emissions vehicle tests Dynamic / Transient dyno and vehicle work
  • Cold Start and Idle Sign-off trips to cold/hot/altitude environmental territories
  • Skills Required:Good understanding of classical control theoryUnderstanding of diesel emissions fundamentalsKnowledge of diesel control systems Engine & Control System modelling tools, eg. MATLABUse of calibration tools such as ATI/Inca/Diagnostic toolsProficient with all Microsoft Office Applications including project managementAbility to motivate, influence, and manage people effectivelyWorks well under pressure and capable of working with minimal supervisionWell developed interpersonal, organisational, facilitation, and communication skillsTechnical report writing.Skills Preferred:
  • Knowledge of company specific systems and processes, GPDS, eFDVS, Concerto, etc
  • Experience Required:
  • Dyno/ Vehicle calibration experience
  • PT Development experience. Gasoline or Diesel
  • Education Required:2:2 Engineering degree in:- Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronic Systems, or Electrical Engineering. Other Engineering/pure science degrees will be considered on a case to case basisAdditional Information: 
  • Must have a valid driving license for use in the UK, mainland Europe, and
  • Must have the ability to travel, without restriction, to mainland Europe and to any of the company's development sites or Manufacturing locations worldwide
