Head of Unit Settlements
A leading provider of products and services in the Financial Services arena are currently looking to recruit for a Head of Settlements in their Bolton office. The Group continues to see strong positive organic growth and will look to continue to expand through further acquisitions where this is viable.
The Unit Settlements team primary function is to reconcile client cash investments in and out of the business, in accordance with FCA Cass rules and for the protection of client monies. You must be able to provide a high quality service to our clients, while minimising risks to the organisation and guarding against any financial or reputational loss
Your key duties and responsibilities will include
·Management and oversight of settlements functions, including daily Client Money reconciliations in accordance with CASS sourcebook of the FCA.
·Ensuring timely execution/delivery to retail and corporate clients across all trading businesses.
·Day-to-day operational management of the settlements function and people management of the Unit Settlements team.
·Ensuring that all escalated payment queries, investigations and complaints are resolved in accordance with policies and procedures.
·Reviewing all aspects of the Unit Settlements team.
·Assist Finance Manager in delivery of projects.
·Leads team to ensure daily, weekly and monthly deadlines/SLAs are met/achieved.
·Refers all instances whereby a payment process has not been followed or any associated risk to the Senior Finance Manager.
·Maintain knowledge across the team of regulations, products/services, internal processes and procedural changes within the wider industry.
·Ensures that the team maintain a professional and courteous approach with clients at all times. Acts as escalation point for client issues.
·Provides day to day management, guidance and support to the team and wider management team regarding client issues, queries, complaints and investigations.
·Implements and oversees the people plan to ensure successful delivery and operations for the payments & settlements team.
·Maintains competency matrix for CASS and settlements team.
·Sets objectives and performance goals for team members and conducts quarterly 1-2-1 staff reviews and annual appraisals in accordance with company procedures.
·Ensures that policies, processes and procedures are clearly communicated, followed and maintained by all team members in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
·Updates team on changes to products/services that impact payments & settlements function.
·Ensures that team members understand their role and own part in the success of the team/business.
In order to be considered for the role you must have strong people management and development skills/experience. You will have the ability to produce and manipulate Excel spreadsheets and databases. It is essential that you have strong planning, organising and project management experience. An IOC qualification or equivalent (preferable) as well as working within a professional services environment.
