Motor Claims Engineer (Desktop)
Location - Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Salary - £ 27,000 - £ 32,500 + Excellent Benefits

My client is an innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor Insurance Services. Due to continued growth and demands of the business they are current seeking to attract an experienced Motor Engineer to join the In-House Motor Claims Engineering Team based in Chesterfield.

The IHE (In House Engineering Team) deal with all aspects of both Insured and Third party motor inspections. Using the latest state of the art technology to receive and audit estimates prior to authorising repairs to their approved repairer network as well as CNR (Customer Nominated Repairers).

The Engineers also inspect and deal with all total loss claims via the matrix used at FNOL where vehicles likely to be written off are identified at first notification. The IHE team deal with both 4 wheel and 2 wheel inspections with our approved repairers of Pre theft or fire valuation and negotiation are also carried out by the team. Support is given to all aspects of the business by the team in order to assist in the claim process for both insured and third party in order to expedite settlement and minimise costs.

Responsibilities:
·Provide support to the Engineering Team Leaders by ensuring delivery of own performance against agreed objectives, KPI's and SLA's
·Maintain knowledge in specialist area to improve understanding of technical issues
·Provide technical expertise to department and customers
·Liaise with external suppliers
·Ensure adequate process/controls are applied to identify and mitigate any risks
·Ensure that all tasks and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with our Values and Customer Service Charter

Qualifications:
·Engineering experience within the motor insurance industry
·Member of either IMI/IRTE / ATA/VDA
·Motor Claims Knowledge
Desirable Skills:
·Confidence in accurate and early decision making
·Identifying cost escalation risk
·Working within a team of claim handlers and admin staff
·Flexibility/organisation/prioritisation of work by risk
·Comfortable with challenging and confrontational discussions
·Contribute to and work within the parameters of the agreed business plan for Claims Operations
·Contribute to and work within agreed processes in order to deliver the business plan in line with the claims Operations policy
·Provide support to the Engineering Supervisor by ensuring delivery of own performance against agreed objectives, KPI's and SLA's
·Maintain knowledge in specialist area to improve understanding of technical issues
·Provide technical expertise to department and customers

·Know, understand and apply the principles of TCF, and report any potential area of risk to your line manager

·Where applicable, to ensure that DPA, FCA, TCF and other regulatory requirements
