Due to ongoing expansion we are recruiting for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join an established team based in the City of London. This role is based within our Corporate Services business whose customers include a diverse range of high footfall static sites such as corporate head offices, stadia, aviation portfolios, museums and galleries.

Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to manage the planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels, and respond to site engineering emergencies. Successful candidates will also be responsible for ensuring that all relevant Log books, Service records, and safety documentation are compiled and recorded to ensure that the site is compliant at all times. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all sub-contractors working on site are inducted and that works are authorised prior to any works are undertaken.

Core working hours - Early shift 07:00 - 16:00. Late shift 13:00 - 22:00

Education / Qualifications

  • 17th Edition
  • City & Guilds Part 2
  • Proven track record in building services maintenance
  • Full UK driving license (for call out)

Key Responsibilities

1 Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.

2 Ensure that the shift cover is manned at the correct level at all times and arrange cover as required with Operations Managers permission.

3 All reports are to be appraised and trained in line with CBRE Company polices. This is to include weekly tool box talks and team briefings as required.

4 Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.

5 Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems including Authorisation to work, and in process checks are undertaken.

6 Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.

7 Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept using task sheets and updating Planet as required. This includes the issuing, updating and closing of all issued reactive, planned and workshop generated work orders on the Concept system.

8 Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices

9 Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.

10 Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff and clients staff.

11 Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required. Including the raising and escalating of hazards when raised by shift staff.

12 Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.

13 Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

14 Any other reasonable request of the Operations Manager or supervisor
