Instructor (Tutor / Teacher) - SEN

Options BESD require a dedicated Instructor (SEN) to join our new DfE registered School, due to open Spring/Summer in 2017 in Longton, Stoke On Trent. Our BESD service specialise in providing primary and secondary education to children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Salary scale £18,500 p.a. - £24,700 p.a. depending on experience, 37.5 hours per week, with 35 days holiday + bank holidays and company benefits.

As an experienced Instructor you will be confident in planning and delivering lessons to pupils with SEMH and SEND, and also have qualifications and be comfortable delivering in at least two of the following subjects; Art, ICT, Music, Humanities and/or MFL. Applicants should have an understanding and experience of assessment and accreditation routes

The following skills are essential:

  • Experience of planning, delivering & teaching lessons in either Art, ICT, Music, and/or Humanities
  • Experience of working within a SEND setting or similar
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to tailor teaching & learning to the needs of individual students
