Working for an established organisation in their HQ based in Caerphilly, the Purchasing Expediting Executive plays a pivotal role in the success of the organisation, as they plough forward with their expansion plans. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchaser as this role will progress to Purchasing Manager over time.

You will be responsible for the acquisition of goods and services required to assure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. The primary objective is to identify and obtain the products and services that must be obtained externally. Evaluate and determine the best suppler, value and delivery for those products and services.
Responsible for ensuring all parts arrive from the vendor on time to meet project deadlines, as well as progressing materials and proprietary parts from the Stores/Goods Inwards to the shop floor allocated areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read, understand and breakdown material quantities from engineering drawings
• Expedite authorised requisitions for stores, spares, equipment and services, maintaining an order acknowledgement log
• Monitor progress of requisitioned goods and expediting outstanding orders
• Monitor orders to ensure that materials/services and hires and deliveries to customer timescales
• Negotiation best practices
• Resolve supplier delivery issues through to corrective action
• Work closely with the supplier to resolve any issues that negatively effect delivery timescales
• Process when required, the return of goods, liaising with the supplier and internal/external logistics to ensure that returns are closed out effectively
• Assist Goods Inwards in the identification of unidentified materials i.e. chase copies of advice notes
• To monitor goods received to ensure shortages are cleared on arrival in Goods Inwards
• Collate and assess supplier performance as part of Company KPI's
• Attend weekly production meetings, review shortages and progress through supply base
• Create, issue and complete works orders through appropriate system transactions
• Provide support as required to the purchasing function
• Provide support as required for company stock takes
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills
• Demonstrate ability to manage Change
