Having a firm grasp of modern coding conventions such as OOP and MVC, along with a flexible approach to problem solving is also important. You will need to feel comfortable adapting pre-established code and writing secure new code using a test driven approach. Many projects will require you to interact with SQL and NoSQL databases, including creating their appropriate models, along with both consuming and creating APIs of varying types.
This role is varied, and at times time pressured, as much of what they do is reactive to the client’s needs. One way to think of it is that with a typical web development shop you will be using plugins to make things happen, but as part of this team you will be creating those plugins instead.
In return for your efforts you will receive a salary of £35k - £40k depending on your experience level, along with a package of benefits upon completion of your 3-month probation period.
