REED Procurement and Supply Chain are working with a leading provider of maintenance services in Bristol, to recruit for an experienced Buyer (North Bristol)

Directly reporting to the National Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for identifying potential opportunities or areas of procurement that could be improved.

The role and candidate will need to ensure the local delivery of quality procurement services and assistance that will deliver genuine savings to the South West Region at a local level, whilst also delivering into National objectives and liaising with the other regional buyers

Main responsibilities will include:

• Conduct regular performance appraisals with suppliers and service providers in line with mutually agreed SLA'S/KPI's.
• Resolve complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices.
• Negotiate and revue (in a timely manner), prices, terms and conditions and quality requirements with direct suppliers, manufacturers and sub-contractors to conform with the varying operational requirements
• Ensure timely collection of monthly or annual business level entitlements as well as product inducements agreed with respect manufacturers/suppliers/sub-contractors.
• Perform value analysis to identify potential cost improvements and develop cost saving proposals.
• Support sourcing, supplier selection, evaluation, and other supplier management activities in line with company policies.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that business needs from procurement are clearly defined.
• Produce or otherwise contribute to various reports to support operational needs as well as appropriate and timely specific monthly Management Reporting .
• Support the mobilisation of new national or significant contracts awarded, ensuring that at the onset the company’s procurement policies and supply base are fully utilised.
• Attending monthly procurement meetings and other procurement or work related meetings which will mean occasional travel and possible overnight stays outside of the usual work based location.
• Continuously review ways of operating.
• Pro-actively contribute to the company’s Management and Operational system to ensure progressive procurement requirements are delivered.

• Ideally a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or equal qualified or equivalent skills gained through experience within a similar procurement environment.
• A good knowledge of procurement processes and procedures.
• Project and change management experience.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• A detailed knowledge of the Mechanical and Electrical and/or Facilities Management service sector industry.
• Knowledge of working with SME businesses desirable.
