The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for - and respond to - crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 75 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

As part of the Executive & Governance team, based at International Headquarters, the Risk & Compliance Officer will manage and support the systems, processes and reporting that together underpin the department’s work on strengthening accountability, risk management and compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Managing the Risk & Compliance Database System, currently active across three compliance functions and with over 1000 users
  • Building robust compliance systems and activities, supporting various functions including Risk, Governance, Insurance, Child Protection and Legal
  • Preparing and analysing output data to create meaningful reports for different levels of the business
  • Supporting and training staff at all levels of the organisation on compliance processes and systems

The Person

You will have solid experience of working within a risk and/or compliance function and knowledge of compliance database systems, in particular using software solutions to support processes across a global organisation. Advanced analytical skills will be imperative, including attention to detail and the ability to review large amounts of data quickly.

A clear and confident communicator you will build effective working relationships throughout the organisation, collaborating successfully with others in the team to deliver a customer focussed and professional service.
