Job Description

To work competently within the Financial Reporting team, contributing to the effectiveness of the Finance department by providing a comprehensive and efficient service to internal and external clients in order that the business objectives of the firm and the department are achieved.


Working within the Financial Reporting/Management Accounts team to provide the global firm with prompt, accurate and timely reports. Key responsibilities will be:

• Regular review and reconciliation of intercompany accounts, including liaising with international offices as required
• Production/review of intercompany invoices on a regular basis
• Preparation of global transfer pricing charges in line with the firms stated policies, liaising with the partnership tax team as required
• Assist the Financial Reporting team with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Driving process improvement and implementing new and robust intercompany procedures
• Undertaking monthly intercompany reconciliations and quarterly intercompany reporting, including preparation and issue of intercompany invoices
• Liaising with wider business services teams and international offices across the business as necessary, including regular monitoring of cash availability in international offices
• Managing the intercompany close including relevant discrepancy resolutions and balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing intercompany work in progress
• Processing month end journals
• Reconciling general ledger accounts
• Undertaking ad hoc strategic project work as required
• Completion of financial and statistical reports and returns, both internally and for external surveys, bids and tenders
• Preparation of annual budgets and half year reforecasts
• Ensuring information is published on a timely basis
• This will be a high volume, high pressure role which requires additional hours to be worked over month end to ensure that everything is completed within tight deadlines

• To operate the Firm’s quality procedures and information security systems as specified in the Firm’s Quality Procedures.
• To be subject to varying degrees of supervision on a day to day basis liaising with the Financial Controller, Finance Director and other directors and partners on a regular basis
• To ensure confidentiality and security of all practice and client’s documentation and all information
• To undertake any specific training courses identified by the HR Department, Line Manager or external training provider
• To operate safely in the work place
• To undertake any other adhoc duties requested by the Financial Reporting Manager or other members of supervising staff

Person Specification


• Part qualified/Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) or qualified by experience with previous intercompany experience
• Excellent MS excel and communication skills
• Highly motivated with excellent problem solving skills and high levels of numeracy
• Confident in own abilities and in their approach
• Goal orientated, with ability to manage multiple tasks
• Flexible attitude towards working practices and ability to adapt style as required
• Be accountable and straightforward


• Experience of VAT and global pricing
• Law firm or partnership/LLP experience
• Knowledge of macro’s and pivot tables
• Knowledge of Elite 3E
