Brief Outline:

Key Account Manager - Lighting - £45k - Northamptonshire. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will have complete responsibility within your region for positively promoting the brand, product portfolio and our commercial offer. There will be a specific focus on working with key targeted customers to develop sustainable & profitable sales growth. This is a field based role that will require daily travel within the region for face to face interaction with the customer base, with occasional travel outside the region that may require overnight stays. The South-East Region broadly covers an area south of a line across the top of the M25 between Reading and Dartford.

About the Client:

We are a long standing successful supplier of domestic & commercial lighting products to the UK electrical marketplace, sold via electrical distributors. With an enviable reputation for product quality & solid business credentials, the company has developed a strong platform & is now looking to further increase market share. An investment program has been initiated to support this drive for further growth, and as part of this a number of high profile external sales roles have been created to increase customer focus and develop business in targeted accounts. My client is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager in and around Northamptonshire.

About the Role:

* Establish & manage a dynamic customer segmentation of all accounts within your region to prioritise resource allocation
* Develop and execute plans to ensure effective Key Account Management of high value accounts and increased penetration of high potential accounts, new or existing
* Working closely with internal sales team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
* Effective presentation of new products and promotions to customers
* Demand creation activity with contractors / specifiers when appropriate & potentially with a distribution partner
* Source & communicate pertinent market intelligence on both general market trends & specific competitor activity
* Research, recommend and provide supporting material to justify proposals for new products and activities
* Timely completion of monthly call plan & visit reports through a CRM tool, as well as a monthly report
* Undertake regular reviews of performance within the territory, putting in place effective remedial actions when required
* Forecasting & budgeting of the region when requested

About the Candidate:

* 5+ years of field based sales experience working with UK electrical distributors
* Demonstrable knowledge of electrical installation products, with Lighting experience advantageous
* Computer Literate - able to use Microsoft Suite confidently
* Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise a diverse workload and work under pressure
* High level of written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent presentation & negotiation skills
* Good Interpersonal skills; Able to build strong working relationships & positively influence at all levels Commercially aware with high level of self-motivation
* Organised, methodical and analytical
* Strong communicator with high level of self-awareness
* Team player, with awareness of others & positive attitude
* Forward thinker, who is resourceful and solution orientated
* Ability to demonstrate pragmatism when required
