Technical Services Manager
Are you an experienced Technical Services Manager who enjoys running the day to day operations of a customer focussed maintenance team on a large estate? If so we have an outstanding opportunity to join a leading FM provider on one of the UK's most prestigious retail sites.
You will be working in an enviable working environment with the responsibility for ensuring the longevity of the site's building services as well as reacting to the daily maintenance tasks that your team will be responsible for repairing. You will also be involved in setting the long term strategy and planned maintenance schedule for this retail site. It will be your responsibility to lead the maintenance team to deliver an effective maintenance service for years to come.
In addition to your salary of c£50,000 you will receive healthcare, 2% pension and 25 days holiday + bank holidays!

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working closely with the operations manager and regional manager to ensure that the maintenance function is run smoothly and efficiently. Therefore you will be responsible for the overall success of the department with full accountability for performance against KPI’s as well as working to agreed budgets.
You will be the lead contact for all technical queries and will be the focal point for the maintenance function. You will ensure that the lifecycle maintenance programme is planned and being adhered to. You will ensure the preventative maintenance programme is being conducted thoroughly.
You will manage a team of over 25 maintenance professionals including HVAC, fabric and electrical as well as 2 maintenance supervisors. You will also be responsible for managing the maintenance budget for the site of circa £2.5m.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate;
- A background in the management of maintenance engineering staff – Preferably in a client facing role on a large single estate.
- Technical background in both mechanical & electrical building services.
- Experience of CAFM systems
- Experience of managing reactive & preventative maintenance programmes.
- The ability to carry out lifecycle maintenance planning.
- Budgetary management experience in excess of £1m.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes.
Technical qualifications required for this role:
- Recognised mechanical apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
- IOSH or NEBOSH
Candidates with knowledge of BMS systems are highly desirable.
This role is a site based position in Dartford, commutable from Greenhithe, Gravesend, Sidcup and Orpington.
