Sheridan Maine are currently recruiting for a large multi-site, forward thinking, dynamic and continually growing support services organisation; who are seeking an Assistant Accountant who will focus on VAT returns and the reconciliation of VAT control accounts on a monthly basis.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, responsibilities will include:

- Prepare VAT returns and bank reconciliations to ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Reconciliation of VAT control accounts on a quarterly / monthly basis.
- Preparation of payroll recharges and reconciliation of all payroll balance sheet accounts (including PAYE, NIC, CIS) on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns.
- Assist the Financial Accountant and with Corporation tax and other regulatory returns.

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or equivalent, have previous similar experience including preparation of VAT returns, along with intermediate Excel skills.
