A business with steady growth based in Brentwood currently seek a Bookkeeper / Office Manager on a permanent basis. The business is within easy reach of the A12, A127 & by train.

Due to continued growth our client is now looking to recruit an individual who is looking for a varied role on a full time basis. The role will cover bookkeeping, office administration and other ad hoc project work including preparation of documents for presentations and reading through tender documents. There will also be some element of HR involved but this is on a small scale at this stage so does not need specific HR experience.

The Bookkeeping will involve all day to day maintenance of financial records, bank reconciliations, monthly preparation of payroll, invoicing, development of management reports, preparation of VAT returns and expenses. This role can evolve to taking on more responsibility so experience here is crucial.

The main duties of the role are as follows:
• Work in close collaboration with the Accounts Manager to ensure that appropriate, but efficient, financial processes and controls are implemented and maintained throughout the business
• Deal with all day-to-day financial record keeping including processing and maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, performing stock and bank reconciliation's, administering expense claims
• Reconcile and process VAT returns
• Variance analysis and assist in preparing forecasts as required
• The general running & upkeep of the office

The successful candidate should possess the following:

• Good interpersonal skills to be able communicate with both internal colleagues and external contacts
• Excellent organisation skills, with fine attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

As this is a growing business you will need to have a proactive attitude be flexible to change and have strong communication skills. This is a really important hire and the person will play an integral part in the continued growth of the business
