Highly respected, growing and exclusive luxury retail brand are recruiting an Accounts Payable Manager to join their progressive finance team. Ideally you will have worked in a retail or wholesale environment or FMCG. The company offer fantastic staff discounts on all their products, a supportive working environment and modern offices. They have a low staff turnover and promote from within.

The Role:

This role will be within the APAR team, reporting into the FD. The role will be focused on the UK and EMEA. We are looking for a motivated self-starter, with knowledge and experience of retail transactions.

The Responsibilities:

Manage Accounts Payable function

  • Managing creditor days
  • Ensure AP Dashboard is fully working and frequent reporting is generated
  • Controlling the stock and non-stock AP balance; Setting up weekly payment run to worldwide suppliers and liaising with their finance departments; ensuring money is received/paid within terms of agreements and in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Operations team to sort out any invoicing or delay issues
  • Stock cash flow forecasting; recommending where to expand or contract available finance
  • Reviewing the weekly payment run before payment
  • Monitoring trade discounts
  • Nominal ledger reconciliation to stock reports

Manage and reconcile intercompany in conjunction with AR Manager

  • Ensure that all intercompany stock is reconciled on a monthly basis

Manage the Concur expense system in conjunction with Stock & Expense Controller

  • Ensure Stock & Expense Controller is meeting internal deadlines for expense payments
  • Ensure full integration of systems into Concur
  • Monitor the Concur system for any delays
  • Manage expectations of internal stakeholders and answer queries from the business
  • Analyse reporting for Finance management on Concur expenses
  • Drive system improvements and support the integration of banking and travel with Concur

Manage Trade Finance function

Produce relevant reporting for Finance senior management

Drive system improvements within the AP function

  • Improve creditor days
  • Drive for continued process improvements
  • Ensure we are working to the most favourable terms for the company and taking advantage of settlement discounts
  • Consistent month-end reporting on a timely basis
  • Ensure global consistency with controls and procedures

Support the Head of Finance - UK & EMEA with ad hoc requests

The Person:

  • Experience as AP Manager essential
  • Knowledge of stock control principles and trade finance desirable
  • Good communication skills are essential
  • Experience with the expense management system, Concur
  • Understand the importance of cash flow
  • Experience with HMRC filings
  • Advanced excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Sum If, Indirect etc)
  • Flexible & proactive, with an eagerness to learn
