About us

We are a well established accountancy practice based in Hemel Hempstead who are looking for a Jr Manager to join their expanding team.

Currently we are 2 partners & 6 staff. Our clients are a mixture of SME’s, corporate refugees/micro-businesses and some medium-sized entities requiring audit.

Our office is a traditional office plan with a few quirky differences which enables everyone to be able to interact. We have a relaxed environment but everyone works hard and supports each other.

We work as a team and as a result 3 members of staff will be assigned to each client to provide support

There is all day parking 60 yards from the office which costs £1.50 or about half a mile away there is free parking available

Office hours are between 9am - 5pm however like all practices we often work to deadlines. Our clients use a variety of software platforms (xero being the main one) and we predominately use Iris cloud base.

Job Description

This is a new role due to expansion. Initially you will be handed a small portfolio of clients (30-40 small to medium size) however as you grow and progress in the role this will grow in number and size.

Day to Day Tasks:

• Dealing with clients.
• Dealing with HMRC.
• Supervising the maintenance of client cloud-based accounts packages.
• Supervision of year end accounts prep.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Supervision of VAT return preparation.
• Supervising and reviewing weekly and monthly payroll admin.
• Supervising and reviewing monthly CIS returns.
• Preparing and submitting Companies House Confirmation Statements.

Person Specification

Essentials:


• A minimum of 3 years good-quality practice experience.
• GSOH.
• A passion for client care.
• A recognised professional qualification – ACA/ACCA etc.
• Hands-on experience of cloud-based accounts packages.

Nice to haves:

• Experience of IRIS & Zero accounts and tax packages.
• Working knowledge of Sage 50.
• Working knowledge of Quickbooks.
• Audit experience.
