About the Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a recently qualified Management Accountant to provide timely and proactive support to our operations in Melton Mowbray. You will be an integral part of the UK Finance Team who are based at our operations across the UK. In Melton we will have two accounting roles who both report to the UK Financial Controller. They will work alongside one another, providing accounting support and reporting for all three profit centres.

The main components of the role are as follows:

  • Produce weekly profit and loss forecasts (weekly "Pulse")

  • Complete month-end journals and reconciliations

  • Complete Group reporting - P&L reconciliations ("financial walks")/ KPI’s (SQDCI)

  • Complete monthly financial statements for three businesses

  • Develop monthly reporting pack

  • Maintain and update product costing records

  • Develop forecasting models to run results scenarios

  • Produce annual budgets and present to management

  • Complete year-end accounts and deal with PWC audit team

  • Work with Operations team to identify and evaluate project savings and capital expenditure applications

  • Work with Distribution and Planning teams to reduce working capital requirement

  • Review product and customer margins with local Sales and Operations teams

  • Ensure processes are SOX compliant and meet internal audit requirements

  • Present results and analysis at monthly management meeting

The future

Jeld-Wen have committed to implementing a new ERP system within the next two years. This role will be heavily involved in this implementation and in preparing cleansed master data towards a successful implementation. The company is also at the early stages of implementing Qlikview for reporting, which will require the accounting team to work closely with the IT team.

About the Person

We are looking for a fully qualified finance professional with excellent IT skills. Whilst we transition to our new ERP system our current application requires people who are highly proficient in manual manipulation of spreadsheets and data. It would be preferable if you have previous experience in the manufacturing sector.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to the build credibility across all areas of the business. You need to be equally comfortable on the factory floor and in the boardroom and have a real passion for delivering to business needs. We’re looking for a team player but one who enjoys working on their own initiative and taking the lead on issues.
