About The Role:
Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their company on a part-time basis. You will be AAT qualified and/or be studying towards CIMA (or an equivalent accounting qualification)
As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts in conjunction with the Management Accountant with whom you will be working closely with. Your duties will include, but are not exhausted to: the addition of new assets and depreciation journal, maintaining the balance sheet, reconciliation and ensuring that all final postings and transactions are correct, posting monthly journals, review of the trial balance prior to production of monthly management accounts, ensuring processes and procedures are in place to minimise errors and risk of fraud.
The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure and will make certain that all financial transactions are effected within the permitted and agreed deadlines. You will follow guidelines in accordance with the firm's procedures and in compliance with SRA Rules, whilst also providing support to all teams with financial file management responsibilities, there will be a particular focus on prompt file closures.
Excellent computer skills, the ability to communicate at senior levels and being able to develop a strong rapport with both internal and external clients will be integral to your role. You will be expected to liaise with third parties such as banks, advisors and auditors. Previous experience working within a law firm is desirable but not essential.
