This is a unique part-time opportunity to establish and lead the Internal Audit function for a world-leading NGO. You will have autonomy to establish and develop the function, whilst being able to work flexible hours that suit your lifestyle.

Client Details

My client is a world-leading NGO that are recognised internationally for their work. They are an award winning organisation with over 5 million members and a reputation for making change on a global scale. They are currently in the process of reviewing their governance frameworks which has led to a newly created role for a part-time Head of Audit. This role will report to the Audit Committee Chair and be responsible for creating and executing the Internal Audit and Risk plan for the organisation.

As the Head of Internal Audit you will be responsible for:

  • Create a work plan for the internal audit framework that is clearly aligned with the operational and strategic risks of the organisation.
  • Building a network of relationships and understanding across the organisation with relevant executive and operational stakeholders, in order to assess and establish the strategic and operational risks.
  • Updating and maintaining the strategic risk registers, assessing the operational risk plan and establishing best practice risk management across the function.

  • Taking the function from reactive to proactive, identifying methodology and work-flows to create an audit function that is consultative and front-leading.

This role will be based in London with part-time hours (21 hours per week) which can be organised as a flexible working plan. There will be no travel with this role.

As the successful candidate, you will be an all-rounded audit and risk professional, who is able to demonstrate knowledge of establishing audit frameworks across financial, operational and IT audits. You will ideally have a background in practice and commercial organisations, with any knowledge of fundraising and data protection as an additional benefit. You will be an enthusiastic and people-oriented professional, who understands that people, rather than process, comes first. You will be looking to step into a role and organisation that offers flexible working where you are encouraged to succeed on a team basis.
