Our client is a state-of-the-art aerospace facility and leading supplier of civil exhaust systems to the aerospace market. The multi-skilled workforce excels in forming processes (specifically superplastic forming, hydro-bulging and hot forming), producing complex structural assemblies.


They now have an opportunity for a procurement professional to work alongside and support the UK Fabrication Purchasing Manager in the strategic direction of the Supply Chain function based in Sheffield.


As a Buyer you will control the flow of material both in and out of production by raising purchase orders on the EFACS system for all consumables and non-inventory requirements as well as for all subcontract work. You will lead negotiations with suppliers, both internal and external, and customers ensuring favourable terms and conditions of supply are maintained. It is essential that you have the ability to refuse, reject or rectify and supplier demands which may disrupt production and delivery. Best practice and methodology must be applied at all times within the supply chain, both reducing waste and working capital and you will maintain service levels to the agreed standards.


With good procurement / purchasing experience within the Manufacturing / Engineering industry, the successful candidate will have previously used MRP systems and have knowledge and awareness of Lean Manufacturing technology and tools.


A CIPS qualification or relevant experience is required, and you will have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. The ability to achieve deadlines consistently is essential and you will be IT competent.

Hours of work 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday - 8am to 1pm on Friday
