Our client are a leading provider in the Leisure and Vending markets. Due to growth and expansion they are looking to recruit for a number of DevOps Specialist.

Purpose of the Role:

To provide support and development of the Business As Usual (BAU) software used throughout the business. Responsible for communicating with customers and maintaining the production environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provides timely technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues
  • Supporting and developing our key production systems/products
  • Ensuring BAU development is undertaken and meets requirements
  • Awareness of new systems coming into place and learning their business use and function

Key Tasks:

  • Work with Development and Engineering teams to design and deploy Vianet products, providing these teams with assistance in identifying and adopting operational concerns.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the platform, in particular by using your skills to improve, automate and distribute the provisioning, deployment, securing and monitoring of the platform.
  • Regular reporting to the Lead Systems Engineer
  • Investigating and troubleshooting production issues
  • Engaging with internal and external customers
  • Developing enhancements for BAU systems
  • Ensuring systems are fully operational and downtime is kept within agreed SLA’s
  • Documentation of existing systems and keeping them up-to-date

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience working within DevOps teams
  • You will need experience in RAD and ASP
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience debugging a complex multi-server service
  • Strong knowledge of working in a production environment in addition to release and configuration management processes
  • Experience of using tools to support rapid development, iteration and delivery
  • Experience in the end to end project lifecycle
  • Ability to quickly research and learn new programing tools and techniques

· Deployment: This can be learnt on the job, experience would be advantageous but not essential:

· Dev skills: need to be able to read and review code, design / implement bug fixes

· Customer facing skills: Essential, must be able to articulate complex and technical scenarios to non-technical stakeholders and have a collaborative approach to achieve results to deadlines. Communication skills are key

· Experience: Degree level or 2-3 years’ experience either in an IT support environment (ITL) or a development environment

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 plus benefits.
