Software Sales Business Development Manager

Basic negotiable & DOE, first year OTE £60,000+

We are looking for an experienced, new business-focussed Sales Professional for a role selling Software products with our client who are based in Glasgow. The ideal candidate would likely be someone experienced in new business sales of software / web-based software products, although it is possible that applicants with a sales background in IT hardware or other IT related technology areas could also be considered providing that you also have an entirely new business-focussed background coupled with an extremely stable career history.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and credible face-to-face IT sales professional who is looking for a new challenge in a role that can offer eventual progression to Board-level and to have an equity stake in the company. This role is focused entirely on obtaining new business from scratch and would only be suitable for individuals who are proven in this and who can exploit their exceptional self-sourcing ability and sales skills to continually deliver excellent results.

Role accountabilities:

    To develop new business relationships in order to generate income to an agreed annual targetWork closely with the inside team on lead generation campaignsPresentations to potential clients through direct communication, face to face meetings, telephone calls and emailsTo actively and successfully manage the sales process throughout the lifecycleTo represent the company at industry events in a professional and polished manner with the intention of gaining new business leads and contactsTo manage and maintain a pipeline and ensure all sales administration is undertaken properlyTo have a thorough understanding of potential clients’ business objectives
Candidate criteria:

    A proven sales & business development background in software or other IT technologySelf-drive and motivation Professionalism in everything you doPositive mental attitude and an ability to quickly recover from setbacksAbility to act on initiative and make decisionsA sense of urgency to get things doneProven success in sales ability and demonstrable knowledge of the sales processesAbility to grow and manage a personal pipeline from a standing startConfident negotiator and a strong ability to closeStrong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentationExcellent organisational and time management skillsFull UK driving license essential.

This is a full-time permanent position and the basic salary is negotiable and is depending on experience and ability. First year overall earnings should be in the region of £60,000 made up of a combination of basic salary and commission - although there is no limit on earnings and the company would be delighted to have to pay someone a six-figure remuneration over the course of a year if their sales successes were to merit this.
