A global design consultancy seek a Assistant Category Manager with experience of design and supply chain, particularly office re-fits.

With a budget of up to £160m per year, the office re-fit sector of their business is growing and due to this growth this position is available. It is an exciting opportunity to lead and support projects and you you will make a difference, by contributing your commercial insight to projects.

As well as day to day relationship management, you will be responsible for the leadership of the end-to-end sourcing process and providing commercial insight to guide business strategy and project delivery. You'll need to consider customer impact, commercial issues, provision of expert market analysis and risk mitigation to meet business objectives.

You will need proven experience of sourcing & supplier management and the associated processes and skills and experience of multiple service categories. We'll need you to have knowledge of client and stakeholder influencing, needs & market analysis, RFP management, financial analysis, negotiation & contracting.

You'll be responsible for the end to end category process, such as:
* Preparation and management of RFI (Request for information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) process including issue, management, tender queries and reporting
* Administration of tools and templates to ensure we meet our contractual obligations within the commission
* Capturing data from our internal database and other data sources to provide performance measurement / category management / commercial data
* Feeding back to the commission teams
* Liaising with supply chain / suppliers to receive category data for negotiation
* Analysing data to provide quality bench marking information for commissions
* Preparing outputs form the data and presenting in quality format for presentation to our clients
* Assisting the commission cost / category managers in:
o effective communication ensuring all information is available for the successful completion of projects
o liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control resulting in projects being cost effective
* Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner, meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients and suppliers, forming a strong working relationship in true partnership
* Ensuring that senior management have quality information on the progress of each project on a regular basis

Qualifications/ experience:
* Qualification to degree level (or equivalent), CIPS is also desirable, whether full or part qualified
