Contract Supervisor (M&E bias)Mon – Fri, 08:00AM - 17:00PMCambridge £38,000 - £40,000Purpose Of The JobTo effectively supervise the day-to-day technical and QHS compliance of the site’s maintenance team to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the site M&E services.Key Responsibilities
Supervision of the on site Team Ensuring the statutory compliance and other standards as directed by the client’s representatives in relation to the maintenance and repair of the sites M&E Plant, Equipment and Services. Carry out audits as directed by the client’s representative Prioritising and delegating Reactive and PPM tasks to the on site team ensuring optimum levels of service delivery are being achieved. Organise and if necessary assist in reactive repairs to the sites M&E systems (BMS, Fire, A/C, Generators and LV Electrical Distribution and Switch Gear). Providing a conclusive monthly report, clearly reflecting the activities on site for that calendar month as directed by the Client and the Contract/Area Manager. First line supervision of Specialist Service Contractors, including Induction and signing off and actioning minor works listed on service report sheets in accordance with the Clients’ representative. Ensure all services sheets are recorded and logbooks are kept up to date. Utilising Help Desk and PPM systems to monitor staff’s performance and ensure service delivery. 10% of all completed PPM tasks to be audited each month recording each task checked Compliance with and record keeping. Register of all test instruments is to be kept in date with details of calibration and allocation. Ensure calibration dates are adhered to. Inventory of site and technician tools to be compiled and audited annually. Records of site tool allocation to be maintained identifying condition and location. Organise the training and development of the site staff so as to meet the client’s requirements. Carry out appraisals of Technical staff as directed by Area/Contract manager Deputise for other Supervisors to cover for Holiday and sicknessAccountabilities 1 Reporting to the Area Manager/Contract Manager 2 Accountable to the Area Manager/Contract Manager 3 Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.PERSON SPECIFICATIONEducation Educated to a minimum of City & Guilds or equivalent in an electrical/mechanical discipline in Building Services Engineering Completion of a recognised technical training scheme.Training Apprenticeship (or equivalent programme) in Electrical / Mechanical Building Services Engineering. A minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical / Mechanical engineering. IOSH Managing Safely Experience[Essential] Excellent knowledge of the operation of Mechanical & Electrical Services and plant. Excellent knowledge of current statutory compliance legislation. Ability to interrogate and operate BMS’s systems Knowledge of current technical standards in relation to Fire Alarm Systems, Generators, Electrical Services, HV & AC and Water Systems Treatment. Knowledge of business critical services i.e UPS and Comms Rooms etc.[Desirable] Working in a Blue Chip environment. Working in a “services supply partnership” Formulating, Assessing and Validating Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Aptitudes Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Numerate and computer literate.Character Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity A role model for customer service excellence. Analytical Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self- starters, confident and stable in manner. Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environmentsCircumstances Occasional weekend working may be required. Must be flexible regarding working hours. Driving Licence essential.
