Brooksby Melton College has an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Apprentice in Equine to join the team based in Brooksby on a full time, fixed term basis for 18 months. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £7,696 per annum based on £3.70 per hour!
Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire, spread across two main campuses – one in the heart of the lively market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on an 850-acre estate at Brooksby. The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement in 2016 and our objective is to be judged an “Outstanding” College within the next five years. The Apprentice in Equine Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a level 2 Apprentice in Equine to join our Equestrian Centre. Alongside being a highly respected college training centre, the Equestrian Centre’s activities include regular competitions from club to affiliated levels, livery services and a BHS approved Riding School with Where to Train status up to BHSII.
The successful candidates will receive excellent training and support in order to achieve their apprenticeship qualifications and gain excellent industrial experience at a busy and diverse College yard.
Plenty of opportunity for pursuing competition riding and training towards the BHS EQL Qualifications is also available. This position will be a blend of equestrian and administration work to provide assistance to a very busy equestrian centre office and yard. This position would be a great stepping stone towards a career in events and commercial equestrian centres. As part of the Apprenticeship you will be training and working towards the level 2 Diploma in Work Based Horse Care.
Our Ideal Apprentice in Equine
The successful applicant will have a good standard of general education and relevant EQL BHS qualifications are desirable. Excellent communication and people skills are essential and experience of high standards of horse care would be an advantage.
At interview you will need to complete a practical assessment of your riding abilities and take a diagnostics assessment at an agreed later date to assess what level you are currently working at for Maths and English (if applicable).
