General Manager for a Venue in North East London, well I can honestly say these positions are quite rare to come onto the market, this is a purpose built venue which sits in its own grounds of 18 Acres, the venue is relatively new, built in 2014, it has a ballroom which sits 800 people and a suite above used for meetings and round-tables which sit 120 people. Their current core market is made up of Charities, Local businesses, Asian Weddings and Sports events which is mainly B2C, they are now looking for a GM to come in and increase their B2B offering, by implementing a new strategy. You will be overseeing and running the whole Venue, from start to finish to include, full man-management of a team of 6, 1 Sales Manager, 2 Sales Executives, 1 Site Manager and 2 Porters. Fully responsible for Hiring, Firing, Training and Mentoring, full P+L, Strategy and Budgets.

Required Skills

Managing events of up to 800 people;
Experience dealing with Asian wedding/events market;

You need to be a self-starter, confident and a good all-rounder within the Venue events sector, someone with Sales, Business Development and Operations would be an ideal fit, the client will only consider applicants who can demonstrate a proven background within Venue management with at least 7 to 10 years experience, 3 of which have to be at man-management level.
