Job Description

Interview Date: Week commencing 24 April 2017

Work Pattern: Monday 13:00-16:30, Tuesday 13:00-16:30, Wednesday 12:30-16:00, Thursday 13:00-16:30, Friday 13:00-16:30

Providing an efficient and effective business support service in a professional manner in line with business requirements with a customer-orientated approach, delivering a service which is responsive to customer needs.

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.


National 4 with core skills modules, SVQ1, 3 Standard of “O” Grades or Equivalent.
Confident user of IT applications, showing ability to use packages effectively.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.


To provide a comprehensive business support service such as:

  • Maintaining computer systems and processes to support service delivery.
  • Data/word processing.
  • Preparing and distributing documentation.
  • Mail handling.
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments.
  • Copying/printing.

    The Individual

    The applicant should have experience of providing business support in an office environment and be able to demonstrate their ability to use current computer based applications to carry out a range of duties. Good communication skills are necessary including an awareness of customer care with telephone, email, and face to face enquires. Confidentiality awareness is essential. The applicant should also be able to work as part of a team or on their own as required. The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines is also desirable.
