A private practice in Nottingham is looking for planners/urban designers (must be MRTPI qualified) with experience in the preparation or determination of planning applications and appeals along with associated negotiations for large scale housing development sites. Applicants should have experience of planning committee and have a good all-around planning knowledge. They must possess professional writing skills with an ability and confidence to provide clear advice to clients and produce a range of reports.
For the urban design role, applicants must have proven experience in master planning design and producing large scale housing development sites for outline & detailed planning permissions to fulfil local plan requirements and be able to show examples of their work. The ideal candidate should be able to clearly articulate best practice and provide innovative and practical solutions. They should have a clear understanding of place, and be able to develop proposals which can articulate local character and form while delivering inspiring, attractive, practical and sustainable places to live and work - meeting the needs of future residents and the employed. Such proposals must also be developable and viable. The urban design role requires good CAD skills and knowledge of a range of image based software for example, the Adobe suite. Whilst also producing planning and presentation documents in adobe in design.
