Sheridan Maine are looking for a General ledger clerk to join a global manufactoring company in Coventry on a permanent basis. 


Our client is a global maufactorer who is a leader in their respected industry. They are looking for a general ledger clerk with experience working in a high volume and fast pace company.

• Balance sheet analysis, reconciliations and journals
• Bank reconciliations.
• Processing VAT returns
• Prepayments and accruals
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Processing and audit of travel expense claims
• Month end adjustments
• Maintenance of company fixed asset register
• Ad hoc duties as requested by General Ledger Manager


Key skills and competencies required:

• NVQ Levels 1 and 2 in Business Administration
• Excellent Oral and written Communication Skills
• Practical working knowledge of analytical tools and spreadsheets in the current company operating system environment (MS Office
• Some very limited overseas travel may occasionally be required
• Experience as well as ability to work within and contribute to a strong teamwork ethic
• General Ledger experience is essential
• Month End Experience (B/S Reconciliations, Journals, VAT) is essential

Desirable skills:
• Proven ability to support broad functional teams in a corporate environment and championing change
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, decision-making, planning, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience working in a shared services environment is a plus
• SAP Accounting Systems experience is highly desirable
• Membership in professional financial body or organisation (ACCA, CIMA, AAT)


This is a great opportunity for an aspiring Assistant Accountant or Part Qualified person to learn general accounting duties and management accounts preperation.
