Our client is looking for an experienced Secretary/Book Keeper with experience of working on VAT Returns, Tax submissions and general bookkeeping within an accountancy practice.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Update staff time sheets onto Sage together with fee information for Work in Progress
  • Allocating Work in Progress against client fees
  • Paying cheques received into bank
  • Raise monthly invoices for regular bookkeeping jobs
  • Maintaining lists of client details and year ends
  • Preparing engagement letters for new clients
  • Reminding clients for records required for tax returns
  • Checking filing deadlines not missed
  • Completion/submission of Companies House documents
  • Confirmation Statements - process and send to client/bill client/submit to Companies House
  • Update Registered Office list
  • Maintain records of staff holidays/absences
  • Generalreception duties
  • Answering telephone
  • Greeting clients
  • Opening post
  • Typing letters and fee notes etc for Office Manager plus other accounts staff
  • Liaising with outside agencies i.e. computer support/cleaners
  • Checking & ordering stationery
  • Keeping petty cash/records
