Full Time

It’s not everyday you see an opportunity like this on offer in the heart of beautiful Cornwall. They’ve been going strong for over 20 years with a bricks and mortar presence, and the site has complimented this nicely in the last 4 years growing rapidly to a significant level. The team are looking to add an eCommerce Executive or Manager (depending on experience) to their design-led brand, driving future growth for the online offering.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the MD this role will work with both the internal team and external agencies to manage eCommerce end to end. The first element will involve working with copywriters and photographers to merchandise the site in the correct manner, ensuring that customers can navigate their way around the site and that content is presentable and on brand. You’ll also manage the relationship with a development agency to implement projects required to optimise site functionality.

Secondly, you’ll focus on customer acquisition and retention through a mix of digital channels, including Email, SEO and PPC. You’ll be hands on with email, working with the creative team to handle the design, through to campaign management with Mailchimp (soon to be Dotmailer) and reporting on these outcomes. Having a knowledge of the principles of SEO is important, but the PPC will be outsourced to an agency so here it’s about handling that relationship and bringing the best out of them. They are open to suggestions on future investment (such as affiliates) so skills in other areas could translate nicely.

What experience you’ll need

We’re looking for a strong digital candidate here (ideally with an eCommerce background) who has good experience on email and SEO. Having an understanding of online merchandising/trading will also help manage the onsite aspects, while insight into PPC will allow you to liaise effectively with the external supplier (although this is not a must). Knowledge of Google Analytics would be ideal to report on the effectiveness of site functionality and the digital channels mentioned above.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

It’s a rare one in Cornwall for sure, especially given the established and multi-channel nature of the business, which adds additional challenges (and rewards) in coordinating the online journey with the bricks and mortar stores. Salary here will be up to £30/35k depending on experience, and benefits including amazing career opportunities, exclusive product offers, social events throughout the year and the odd treat for lunch on a Friday!
