Financial Controller - Construction
Qualified Financial Controller required for an SME Construction business in SolihullYour new companyA long established, cash rich and niche business. All privately owned, based in their head office in Walsall, the company are specialists in their field and have been market leaders for a long period. The company is undergoing significant change and as such is looking at appointing a Financial Controller who will then develop into the Finance Director.Your new roleYou will be the Financial Controller of the business and the number one in Finance. The role will be a pivotal appointment in the company and will support the Managing Director in the strategic growth and direction of the company. The role is looking for someone who can maintain a hands on day to day approach, oversee a team and review and improve the reporting deadlines. You will be responsible for the production of the monthly Management Accounts, VAT and the Statutory Accounts. Although the day to day Financial Control is important, the Managing Director is also looking for an applicant with a strong commercial approach in order to improve process and produce meaningful Management Information.What you'll need to succeedYou will be a progressive and commercial Qualified Accountant looking to take ownership of a Finance function with a trajectory to Finance Director. You will be happy in a SME environment with a mix of commercial and day to day control. Construction Sector experience is essential for this role.
