For more details, keep reading…Duties and Responsibilities:The company require a proactive trainee service desk engineer with an aptitude for communication and interest in Microsoft infrastructure technologies such as Windows.This role will initially be involved in the support of their internal systems and those of their customers.Quickly assimilating new technologies, being able to apply what is learnt and showing a genuine enthusiasm for the technology are critical to this position’s success.Under supervision you will be required to provide remote and onsite technical support for internal staff and external users of the IT and computer systems. You will be responsible for providing 1st line technical support, to take ownership and management of the support cases taken on/assigned and their resolution/escalation, logging & updating all support calls, establishing and maintaining client setup records within server based directories, liaising with external hardware & software providers, providing reports detailing incidents raised, current status and resolutions and maintaining an awareness of developments in the field.As a Microsoft IT Apprentice you will be required to: Learn how to Support internal systems, including Active Directory and Exchange. Become a valued part of the IT Support team. Learn how to provide technical support to marketing channels and activities. Assist in customer project and support activities as skills allow. You will gain on the job experience and can utilize the skills you have gained over the duration of your apprenticeship. You will help the existing staff, and the other sub-contractors we partner with, to deliver the IT Support services to our clients. Learning how to handle the telephone support calls – as well as incoming Helpdesk emails. They will manage the Helpdesk system, ensuring all calls are handled within the agreed SLA. You will be working on resolving the first line support where capable, and work with more experienced staff to help resolve more complex issues. Our clients use (predominantly) Microsoft operating systems and applications, so a good understanding of these would be very useful. Other responsibilities will include updating company systems. Desirable Skills: You should have GCSE Maths & English at C or above and 3 or 4 other subjects at least. You will have enjoyed school, and you’ll be ready for a new learning environment in the world of work. You should have a working knowledge of Microsoft products and a good knowledge of client/server technology You should have excellent organizational and time management skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively face to face, on the phone and in writing without using too much jargon/technical talk and be a good listener You should be customer orientated, confident, reliable, approachable, flexible, versatile, pragmatic and a team player with the ability to think widely and challenge existing/traditional ways of working The successful applicant will ideally drive and own a car but if not, this will be required when they qualify.Training to be ProvidedYou will be enrolled onto the award-winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining the Microsoft certifications MTA Cloud Fundamentals, MTA Network Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation and CompTIA A+. This apprenticeship is delivered remotely via a live virtual classroom using the very latest Microsoft technologies. These qualifications are globally recognized industry certifications and form the significant building block of IT knowledge for anybody looking to start a career in IT. IMPORTANT INFORMATIONWeekly Wage: A starting salary of £150 per week, rising upon completion of units during apprenticeshipDaily Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm (1 hour lunch)NB: When fully trained and experienced, you will be expected to be part of the rota for out of hours support.Future Progression: All engineers receive constant training on various Microsoft certifications. Engineers have the opportunity to progress from 1st Line to 2nd Line, 3rd Line and beyond.
