Project Engineer - BMS & Controls
Salary: Up to £35k plus car or car allowance
Location: Manchester

Our client is a specialist company working within the Building Energy Management sector, they are currently extremely busy and are therefore looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to work out of their offices on the outskirts of Manchester.

You will be an electrically biased Project Engineer who has worked on Building Management Systems and Controls, ideally with some exposure to industrial HVAC projects. You will be responsible for managing projects through to commissioning stage and client handover. The projects will generally be within the industrial sector with some exposure to healthcare, automotive and retailers as well. The Project Engineer will be involved with projects focused around Boiler Rooms and Plant Rooms. Strong customer satisfaction is essential and the company has very high standards for the level of service they offer.

The role requires someone who is willing to do national travel as required, although about a 3rd of the work is in the North West, another 3rd in the Midlands area and the final 3rd based nationally. There may be some overnight stays required but this is not a regular part of the working week and there is flexibility around the travel element of the role. The Project Engineer will need to be proactive in managing their projects and should be comfortable dealing with subcontractors, and the procurement elements of projects.

Key Requirements for the Project Engineer role are:

  • Qualified to a minimum level of ONC in Electrical Installation
  • Experience of managing projects through to completion within budget and timescale
  • Understanding of HVAC and Energy Controls systems
  • Experience of TREND
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Demonstrable understanding of contracting procedures such as project correspondence, documentation, notice of issues, site reporting and subcontract negotiation & administration



The Project Engineer role has a basic salary of up to £35k and also comes with either a company car or car allowance scheme.
