Finance Assistant required in Salisbury on a fixed term contact for approximately 12 months Maternity Cover. Hours of work will be 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Salary will be between £15,931 to £18,785 dependant on experience.
As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Manager by providing general administration and financial support on a day to day basis. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

" Making payments to suppliers
" Receive and record monies and undertake general banking duties
" Prepare VAT returns
" Bank reconciliations
" Ensure that month end procedures and reconciliations are completed on time
" Assist the finance manager with various reports
" Maintain manual and computerised financial records
" Able to operate various computer systems and office equipment
" Be able to undertake general administration duties and attend meetings as and when required

In order to become a successful Finance Assistant, it is essential that you are able to demonstrate the following:

" Have GCSE Grade C or Equivalent in Maths and English
" Previous experience in a similar role
" Knowledge of IT systems in a similar role
" Able to work independently
" Be organised, efficient and able to work under pressure
" Have a flexible attitude and able to work unsupervised

It would be desirable that you hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in Finance or Accounts, or an AAT Qualification and knowledge of relevant procedures of financial accounting however this is not essential.
