Our client based in Birmingham is searching for a Qualified Senior Accountant ACA / ACCA/ CIMA. You must be able to demonstrate key competencies from working in a top Accountancy practice with relevant Audit experience. Salary £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience) + Benefits!

Job Title: Senior Executive
Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000

Reporting to: Manager / Partner
Location: Midlands - Birmingham

The Team:
The Midlands team comprises of the Birmingham offices. We have clients in the east and west midlands in a range of sectors from manufacturing, technology & innovation, professional services, property and construction, charities and education. We act for all size of entities, private client, owner managed business, large groups and listed companies. Must be available to work in other offices as required

Role purpose:
To provide a high quality service to clients in respect of the audit of statutory accounts and on occasions, other ad hoc assignments.

Core responsibilities:
* Carrying out audit work on a range of clients in accordance with internal procedures and programmes
* Previous experience of working with clients in the charity education sector as well as corporate clients up to £100m turnover, would be an advantage
* Planning audits to ensure approach is both efficient and cost effective and that completion aspects completed on a timely basis
* Liaising, and developing relationships, with clients on all aspects as appropriate
* Keeping the manager and others involved with service delivery to the client informed of developments and identifying problems and possible solutions where appropriate
* Starting to set and review budgets, control WIP, monitor work against agreed targets and to assist with billing.
* To use resources to meet targets and maximise utilisation and recovery rates
* To be proficient with Pro-Audit and SAPA where appropriate
* To support colleagues and assist in developing a motivated team
* Become familiar with, and work towards meeting the firm's objectives and own development targets
* Strive to develop self and others and put time into preparing for and contributing effectively to the various feedback and appraisal processes including Personal Development Meetings for self and others, and timely completion of job assignment forms
* Continuously develop own knowledge and skills
* Attend client meetings, build and develop good working relationships with clients and colleagues to develop further business over time
* Identify opportunities to increase the client base and develop cross departmental working opportunities
* Be professional and behave with integrity at all times
* Ensure ISA 260 letters are issued
* Ensure office and on site audit work is carried out, including allocation of work within the designated team, in a professional manner
* Provide effective on the job training for junior members of staff, supervising and giving instructions
* Responsible for handing back complete audit file at the end of the client audit
* Complete job appraisals for junior members of the team

* Be aware of and comply with the firm's policies at all times
* Record time accurately using the Practice Management System
* Any other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
* Be aware of the firm's risk management and practice assurance procedures and ensure compliance
* Ensure continuing professional development is up to date at all times

Qualifications: (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Solid experience in practice, 50% of which should be relevant audit experience
* Previous exposure/working knowledge of PRO audit
* Ideally worked within a top 20 firm
* Involved with objective setting
* Influence internal clients/colleagues
* Work under pressure with accuracy and focus
* Excellent technical and analytical skills
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Competent using MS Office
* Good understanding of business and economy
* Industry knowledge dependent on group
* Proven planning and prioritising skills
