My client is recruiting for a Site Quality Manager who ideally is from an engineering background
This role will be mainly based on the Factory floor and 20% in the office
You will be managing a small team on production staff
Responsible for the day to day running of the quality team ensuring all products produced meet the customer’s requirements.
Effective processing and feedback of customer issues and returns, and the timely resolution of containment and root cause analysis / actions.
To ensure that customer part approval requirements for new, modified and maintained tools, are met, and delivered in a timely manner.
To work in the approval of suppliers and the support of material trials, process improvement trials, ensuring materials meet specification and the suppliers are approved.
To be a key team player working as part of the site team responsible for the performance of the quality team the use and application of measuring equipment, including the use of a CMM, fixtures, jigs, gauges and test equipment, in the support of continuous improvement and business performance.
Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current health and safety legislation (HASAW Act 1974)
To manage the site quality team ensuring the performance of their roles and the resolution of escalated production quality issues.
To reduce the cost of quality through the analysis of daily production scrap and the use of data gained from process capability studies.
To manage customer complaints & returns in a correct and timely manner and to ensure feedback is given and the learning’s from this process are feed into production.
To ensure, that all quality documentation, equipment and samples required for production are identified developed and in good working order prior to any production.
Ensuring that the required jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment is in place and approved for all new products and product changes
To carry out part and process approvals as required in support of New Product Introduction and Customer Requirements using the relevant measurement equipment including a CMM, fixtures, gauges and techniques.
To produce the appropriate reports in support of part approval, PPAP’s Capability studies Control Plans, FMEA, Job instruction sheet’s and packaging specifications.
To check supplied material for NPI and technical material trials meet specification and that the suppliers of such materials are approved.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday
7am - 4pm

This role would ideally suit an engineer that has worked on the shop floor who is looking for there next step into management
Knowledge of FMEA
6 sigma and Lean Manufacturing
