The Role

As the Student Welfare Coach, you will work across the college within a team providing personal support primarily to full-time learners that are deemed At Risk on several pastoral topics referring to support within Student Services as appropriate with regular one-to-one recorded on Pro-Monitor. You will deliver a drop in where students' can gain advice on a range of subjects and be referred to internal and external agencies for further support. You will also support the planning and delivery of range of programs that encourages and promotes the college to all school leavers. Helping the student transition to college, this may include Care Leavers (CL)/ Looked After Children (LAC) or Youth Offenders (YO), or any other disadvantaged young person At Risk'. You will be required to travel between all college sites so you will need a full UK driving licence.

Key responsibilities, skills and attitudes

* A relevant Level 3 qualification i.e. Youth work/Social care

* To travel between all college sites

* Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving

* Advanced skills of empathy, understanding and listening

* Recent experience of working with young people aged 14-19

* Being a safeguarding officer
