Field Sales Manager - Key Accounts - Permanent role

Our client is a well established, nationwide distribution firm based in Preston, offering this fantastic new opportunity to develop, maintain and increase sales profitability with key clients.

This role will require 80% of the time spent at the customer's premises developing, negotiating and selling to maximise sales opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role has no direct reports but will work closely with the internal sales department in delivering support to key customers and developing the business further for key accounts.

Must have:

- A minimum of 5 years direct sales experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience with Key Account Management
- Understanding of P & L, profitable sales, margin implications of particular sales and discounting policies
- Skilled negotiator of significant agreements with strong commercial acumen and numeracy
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Analytical experience and the ability to interpret financial and sales data and results
- Demonstrates change agility, resilience, drive for results and customer focus
- Ability to collaborate and connect with others
- Good technical knowledge

Job Description

- Responsible for delivering the sales and margin as per Company target on a quarterly basis for the owned assigned accounts
- Responsible for developing a sales forecast based on pipeline and opportunities for each assigned account
- Meet face to face on a regular basis with the top accounts and review the customer's requirements whilst consistently enabling the growth of sales and margin £ and profit on a quarterly basis
- Identify key competitor account opportunities and formulate plans to deliver and convert significant wins, ensuring maximum profitability from the right product and services mix
- Collaborate with assigned internal outbound sales agents that are assigned to key accounts to ensure efficiency and support to the assigned account base
- Liaise with Marketing to drive specific product sales in the assigned account base
- Manage all exceptional customer issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead the negotiation in large and/or strategic customers, Negotiating pricing structures and product needs.
