We are on the lookout for a self-motivated and driven sales professional to join an Investors in People Gold accredited company! In this exciting role you will utilise your world class sales skills to increase the number of Apprentices undertaking Apprenticeships through our client by engaging local employers and selling the benefits of work-based learning. Strongly motivated with a drive to succeed, you'll have a demonstrable track record of sales success; targeting and gaining commitment from key individuals, managers and/or Directors in companies. Business Development Adviser: The role.

* Increase the number of Apprentices undertaking Apprenticeships through our client by engaging local employers and selling the benefits of work-based learning to:
- Employers (targeting the key decision makers)
- Employees (promoting work based qualifications to existing staff)
- Young people (existing staff and to young people wanting an apprenticeship)
* Undertake TNAs (Training Needs Analyses) with senior staff, promote the business case for training and advise on the Apprenticeship Levy.
* Promote the benefits of 'upskilling' both for individuals and for employers.
* Increase the number of our clients Member Companies, especially Gold and Silver Member Companies.
* Increase commercial/Health & Safety training revenue engaging both new and existing companies.
* Gain new business by contacting new employers through cold-calling, follow-up activity, email and mail shots.
* Gain new business through networking, regular contact with your developing portfolio of companies and prompt response to leads.
* Develop new business in new occupational areas or in Higher Level Apprenticeships within existing companies.
* Drive forward our clients employer focussed sales activity and develop our employer targeted database.
* Promote Equality and Diversity
* Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all learners.
* Additionally: Occasionally you may be required to assist in other activities:
* Attend careers fairs, events in schools - promoting apprenticeships to young people, teachers and parents.
* Contribute marketing ideas for the production of marketing materials.
* £22,000 - £24,500 per annum based on experience
* Fantastic earning potential with uncapped commission structure
* Business Mileage paid at 45ppm


Business Development Adviser: The essentials.

* Proven sales skills+/or a demonstrable record of meeting & exceeding targets in a given field of work
* Experience of targeting and gaining commitment from key individuals, managers and/or Directors in companies.
* Experience of successful negotiating and selling at all levels


Business Development Adviser: Your experience.

* Experience in a similar role
* A proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets
* Excellent communication skills


Business Development Adviser: The desirables.

* Experience of Work-Based Learning or promoting Apprenticeships is not an essential requirement for the post
* We will consider applications from anyone who can demonstrate success in engaging employers and can transfer these skills to the Apprenticeship and training arena
* The capacity to increase Apprenticeship take-up in Business areas (business admin, IT, customer service, retail), Engineering occupations (fabrication, mechanical, electrical, maintenance etc.), Management, Health and Social Care, Warehousing and others
* Able to advise on training and development
* Knowledge of NVQ and apprenticeships
* Willingness to undertake H&S appraisals to assess suitability of employer's H&S arrangements (training provided or a H&S qualification desirable but not essential)

* Formed as a charity in 1966 by the heads of leading local manufacturing employers primarily to manage and support the training of Apprentices. Over the last forty years the company has grown considerably and now provides training to companies throughout Lancashire & Greater Manchester. Accredited with all the major government training organisations including the Skills Funding Agency, and working with the best awarding bodies: City & Guilds, Institute of Learning & Management and EAL-EMTA Awards Ltd. Our client has been accredited to the Investor in People standard since 1999, achieving Gold status.
