2nd/3rd line support engineer
My client are an IT Solutions company to the SME marketplace in and around Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, they maintain extremely high standards of service.
Due to growth they now require an experienced Network Engineer to provide both 2nd/3rd line support on their busy Tier 2 Service Desk and as required, visit customer sites to carry out service visits, commissioning of new installations, on-site support and management of existing networks.
Tier 2 Service Desk:·Configuration of Microsoft servers and desktop machines·Taking ownership of Tier 2 support and priority cases·Dealing with escalated cases from Tier 1·Telephone and Remote support·Maintenance of servers and network equipment·IT security and backup checks·Assisting Technical Managers and The Service Desk Manager with sensitive and escalated tasks
On-site:·Installation and configuration of desktop machines and laptops·Carry out service visits to ensure all servers and network equipment is running smoothly and looking for any potential problems
Candidates must have commercial experience in a server and/or second line support role. In order to successfully carry out in-depth investigations and reconfiguration of our clients’ systems and undertake new installations, it is essential that you have a solid understanding and demonstrable skills in the following areas:·IP Addressing Active Directory·Routing Protocol technologies
Microsoft Client and Server Operating Systems, specifically:·Windows 7 Windows 8·Windows 10 Server 2012·Server 2008/2008R2/ 2012 Small Business Server 2008/2012
Skills in the following areas will be advantageous:·Microsoft Exchange/O365 Apple products·VoIP Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
