LYD Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of their leading Building Services clients. Based from their Edinburgh office you will work within their projects division, responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of all projects, ensuring the Company’s correct commercial controls are adopted to protect the business at all times.
Your main duties will include:
·Work closely with project management, contract management and estimating departments to ensure commercial viability of projects and contracts.
·Identifying, reviewing and detailing variations, the preparation and submission of detailed prices
·Preparation of all necessary supporting documentation for Final Account submission including negotiating the settlement of the Final Account
·Analysing actual costs and future expenditure, highlighting any errors or inconsistencies on a monthly basis
·Forecasting estimated value, cost and margin on a monthly basis, reconciliation and reporting on any variances from the tender allowances
·Responsible for the collation, interpretation and disseminating of information to relevant parts of business reporting on WIP and aged debt
·Capable of working in a team environment supporting colleagues and providing advice on all commercial matters where necessary
·Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety Policy at all times
The successful candidate will have:
·HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying
Ideally 2 years’ experience working within a similar role/sector
·A working knowledge of working with Schedule of Rates – PSA etc
·Experience within a Main Contractor background desirable - basic knowledge acceptable
·Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
·Full UK Driving licence
The package on offer:
·£30,000 - £35,000 per annum
·Car/ Car Allowance
