Windows Systems Administrator London to £55k

Windows Systems Administrator (Real-time Data Infrastructure LAN/WAN TCP/IP Cisco ASA). Global investment research and management firm is seeking a skilled Windows Systems Administrator with networking skills to join their team.

As a Windows Systems Administrator you will support, configure and maintain a low latency global network that delivers real-time market data feeds to its client base. Responsibilities will include building new and maintaining existing infrastructure on a global scale (there are 2000 servers across 10 datacentres with no virtualisation); on-boarding new clients; performing ongoing tuning, hardware maintenance and resource optimisation in order to reduce latency and helping to diagnose and resolve both server and LAN/WAN protocols. You’ll also be supporting and monitoring networks, firewalls and servers to identify problems and bottlenecks.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server administration (2008/2012; Web/Standard/Enterprise)
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching, as well as experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco/HP routers and switches within a production environment – must have configured, installed and maintained Cisco ASA firewalls (v7 or higher)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Degree educated, Computer Science or similar technical discipline
