Infrastructure Administrator Essential -

  • Full clean driving license

Purpose of infrastructure administrator role -

  • Design, implement and maintain the businesses IT infrastructure to an excellent standard.
  • Server administrator
  • Ensure the security of the company data
  • Provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support

Infrastructure Administrator Dimensions -

  • You will be the information systems ambassador within the company
  • Information assets audit and control
  • Development and provision of IS and IT services
  • Managing external contracts which will include software & hardware maintenance
  • Provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support

Infrastructure Administrator Responsibilities -

  • Design, implement and administer systems that will unify the company's knowledge.
  • Work with the 'heads' of teams to bring comprehensive and dynamic development opportunities to further streamline the business.
  • Design & implement agreed on IT and IS policies/strategies to fit current and future requirements of the company in conjunction with other members of the team.
  • Work with a ticket system to ensure all tickets are raised and completed promptly.
  • Provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support

Infrastructure Administrator Sub-responsibilities -

Project Management -

  • Identify, plan, deliver and evaluate projects. You will ensure the timely and satisfactory operation of outputs.
  • Participate in and lead project teams.

Developing the service -

  • Assist in the development and implementation of information systems for the business.
  • Championing information systems with all members of staff to ensure secure and safe systems meeting the company's standards before deployment.

Ensuring quality of service -

  • Make recommendations to maintain and improve the quality of training provision.

Planning and organizing -

  • Development and formulation of long-term plan/strategy for IT and IS with the head of information systems.
  • Day to day planning, organizing, prioritizing daily tasks, project work, administrative duties.
  • Assists in the weekly and monthly planning and implementation of group developments/projects in conjunction with other team members and the head of information systems
  • Plan annual work programme/budget in conjunction with the head of information systems
  • Proactive work in response to short, medium and long-term organizational objectives and business needs
  • Reactive work in response to business needs
  • Need to be aware of, implement and adhere to the internal policies and procedures

Decision making -

  • Understand information assets and systems across the entire business to be best suited to advise on the future development of information systems
  • The effective assessment and evaluation of IT and IS policies and procedures to provide solutions to the numerous requests for support is essential
  • Strategic development of IT infrastructure and information systems to be implemented in agreement with the Head of information systems
  • Distribution of equipment, network amendments, and high-level problem solving is all done in collaboration with other members of the team.

Essential internal and external work relationships -

  • Collaborate with customers to actively promote the benefits of information systems
  • Participate in or lead teams to achieve goals
  • Negotiate with consultants and external suppliers of products and services

Infrastructure Administrator Knowledge, skills, and experience required -

  • A HNC/HND in computing
  • Business orientated information systems design and implementation. This will include a background in scripting, programming and systems design.
  • Project management
  • First-rate understanding of information assets and how to apply them in business environments
  • An extensive working knowledge of business networking and server systems to include Microsoft Servicer products, virtualization and networking /storage systems. Building, installing, configuration and administration of network resources, server environments, PC's and Laptops.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of business orientated server/network systems and user support
