I am currently working with an exciting new government funded start-up business within the agriculture sector based at the York Science Park. The current opportunity is for a top class graduate to join this business on a long term contract as a Finance Operations Co-Ordinator, mainly to assist the Financial Controller in the day to day running of the company accounts. There are other duties which come in to this role not relating to finance, meaning the ideal candidate should have a varied background with some experience in general accounts.

Day to day duties will include:
*Maintain Purchase Ledger
*Preparation of accounts to trial balance Consistency, completeness checks
*Maintain Sales Ledger
*Purchase I Sales statements reconciliation
*Approval and delegated authority checks
*Creating systems and procedures
*Claim preparations
*VAT return preparation
*Maintenance and creation of databases
*Membership renewals/documentation
*Membership processing systems
*Ad hoc admin
*Statutory payments calendar
*Management of finance calendar
*Banking reconciliations

The Ideal candidate should have the following qualities:
*Willingness to learn
*Pro-active/ Can do/Problem solver
*Small team mentality - Hands on - happy to do office admin
*Professional and discrete to deal with confidential info
*Attention to detail
*Highly organised

Qualifications/ Experience:
*Graduate or part-qualified (ACCA/ CIMA/ AAT)
*Previous office based experience (as a minimum)
*Excel skills
*Understanding of databases
