We have both full time and part time role available.The salary is upto £22,000 per annum(pro rata for part time)dependent on the experience. The role requires to work across 7 days a week on rotational basis including weekends and Bank holidays.

HM Prison Oakwood, is a large category C training/resettlement prison, located in the village of Featherstone, Wolverhampton, in Staffordshire, England.

About the Job:

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within the Care UK cluster of prisons based on National (Divisional) policies supported with local standard operating protocols, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.

The post holder will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs. The Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. You can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, dispense medications, screening drug charts, patient counselling etc.

The post holder may be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. The Pharmacy Technician may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.

The Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent qualifications and have a current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. They will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Further job information:

We have both permanent full time(37.5 hours per week) and part time (30 hours per week) role, working across 7 days a week on rotational basis.

We welcome informal visits to the prison but these must be booked in advance.
